Robert Ivy becomes the first architecture to win Noel Polk Lifetime Award

Robert Ivy joined the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as the CEO in 2011. Since then he has displayed exceptional leadership skills, and as also the Vice President of AIA he has succeeded in leading the organization to expand to the rest of the world. AIA is a large organization which is found in Canada, Europe, Asia and other territories and it has thousands of members in the world. The organization is committed to the building of structures with the aim of creating neighborhoods that are safe and also concerned with the global community. Before being appointed to become the CEO of the coveted organization, Robert Ivy was working as the Architectural Record’s editor in chief. While he was here, he managed to market the journal to become one of the most read in the world. He also enabled it to win several awards like the National Magazine Award. All this is because of his excellent leadership and dedication in his activities.

Such achievements have enabled Robert Ivy to be recognized by the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters (MIAL), and he was awarded Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is a prestigious one, and he is honored to be the first architect to win the award. The Polk award has been recognizing those who have been tirelessly promoting art, and some of the other people who have been awarded are Eudora Welty who is a writer and Morgan Freeman.

Robert Ivy was chosen for the award because he has been working hard to bring architects ideas to the public and he has succeeded. His career as a writer and editor has been successful. He has also received other wards due to his performance in the field. He has won the Alpha Rho Chi, and he is now a designated Master Architect a title that does not come easily.
